University of Bridgeport marked the foundation’s fifth Fresh Check Day. The Kickoff event featured Jordan Burnham of the Active Minds Speakers Bureau, a nationally acclaimed mental health speaker, giving a presentation about his survival of a nine-story fall and suicide attempt called “Life After the Fall.” The main event took place September 26th on the campus’s PED mall. Students were again treated to singer/songwriter Will Evens, who gave a live solo performance, along with Fresh Check’s signature interactive tents including Paint Your Art out where students threw darts at canvas that had paint filled balloons hanging to create some amazing art and our new LBGTQ themed tent “Be Yourself”. Purple Knight, University of Bridgeport’s mascot made an appearance at Fresh Check, while students helped themselves to Subway sandwiches and free ice cream. Through peer to peer message, the estimated 500 students who participated in the event were able to learn more about the campus and national resources available to them.
