Mitchell College | September 11th and 18th, 2013

Mitchell College marked the foundation’s fourth Fresh Check Day. The Kickoff event featured singer/songwriter Meg Hutchinson, who gave a feature presentation which blended her unique music styling with a conversation about her struggles with mental health. The main event held on September 18th and was part of Mitchell’s 75 Anniversary Founder’s Day festivities; which included a pep rally with the Athletic Department and all student-athletes, and a huge cook out for all students. At least 300 students came out to the event and were treated to live music from Will Evans of Barefoot Truth along with a wide-range of tent activities, gongs from the Conduit Center, and awesome prizes including a 55″ Samsung TV. With a barn and gazebo creating the perfect ambiance, High Hopes Therapeutic Riding brought two of their miniature horses, Smokey and Aladdin, to Fresh Check Day at Mitchell College which was a huge hit with the students. Students came away with knowing that their school cares about them and there are many resources available.
